Stop the presses. The city of London has officially shut down. Why are all the bars, shops, and restaurants closed? What’s the deal with the massive tube delays, the buses and taxis that have suspiciously disappeared, and the shockingly quiet streets? Oh that’s right, it snowed last night!
While beautiful, I’ve never seen a city overreact to snow as much as London…and this coming from a girl who grew up in Richmond, Virginia. That’s right, I think London is even more ill-equipped to handle snow than the capital of the South, which is saying something.
It snowed just a few inches last night, but it was enough to cause chaos in the city. We tried to head out last night, but spent most of our time walking to the bus (which never came) or finding a place that was actually open (most were closed “due to weather”). Really? All this for a few inches? A bit of an over-reaction… although it was pretty!
